Outpatient Therapist

Job Description

Responsible for providing outpatient therapy- individuals and families who are going through challenging emotional, mental and psychological times. Provide outpatient therapies and necessary documentation.

Therapies include individual, couples, group and family. Implement Psychotherapy techniques, behavioral interventions, diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning. Provide Crisis Intervention and support clients with developmental issues. Ensure a clear theoretical foundation of structural family therapy principles and techniques is guiding care. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community members and referral sources. Weekly individual and/or group supervision. Use videotape to review session and provide training. Attend treatment team meetings when applicable, for case coordination and clinical oversight and treatment planning.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Education/Training: Masters Degree in counseling, rehabilitative counseling, social work, psychology or closely related field. Must possess a valid license in mental health. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Experience/Knowledge/Background:

Masters Level Licensed Clinician required. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience. Experience in community mental health serving individuals with varying mental health diagnosis preferred.

Skills:

Must possess basic computer/keyboarding skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills on an individual, group and community basis.

Appearance/Personality:

An Honest Willingness to Learn and Seek Supervision. Courtesy and professional business demeanor and presentation are critical. Due to the personally sensitive nature of information in this area, confidentially is essential. Must have the ability to work well with diverse groups of people and be extremely flexible.

Special Requirements:

Experience with clinical supervision, crisis management, knowledge of Private Insurances, DMAS and Licensure regulations.

Population Being Served:

Primarily at risk youth and their families with significant emotional, behavioral and or developmental issues.
